- Go to the search box and type simply PC (refer the below screen)
2. Right click “This PC” shown top left side of search result as shown in above screen and click on “Manage” option, after clicking on manage option Computer Management screen will be opened, then you have to double click on Storage option middle area (refer the below screen)
3. Now you have to double click on “Disk Management(Local)” (refer the below screen)
4. After clicking on “Disk Management(Local)” option next screen will be opened and show all partitions are available on your PC, in my case here is only one partition “C” (refer the below screen)
5. Now you have to right click on bottom middle “Windows (C)” and then click on “Shrink Volume” option (refer the below screen)
6. After clicking on “Shrink Volume” option a popup message will show like “Querying volume for available shrink space, please waits…” (refer the below screen)
7. Next will appear as Shrink C, you have to go on third option “Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB” and next to this type the volume in text box. There is numbers showing in Mega Byte (MB) means 1 GB = 1024 MB, You have to type your required space in MB to create partition whatever you want, in my case I have to create two partitions and I need only 40 GB around space so filled 405274 MB and then you have to click on Shrink button in bottom. (refer the below screen)
8. Now it will take some time to process the free space whatever you have entered for your required partition and then next screen you will see the more tab named like Unallocated Space with your required volume. Now you have to right click on that and click on “New Simple Volume” (refer the below screen)
9. A simple wizard will appear you have click on Next button (refer the below screen)
10. Now next screen will appear to specify the volume size, you have to go on text box next to third option “Simple Volume size in MB” and type your required volume for next partition, if you want only one extra partition then simply leave it and click on next button otherwise specify the required volume for required partition and click on next button. In my case I need two more volumes (Partition) one D with 300 GB and another E with 100 GB approx; henceforth I have entered 305273 MB. (refer the below screen)
11. In next screen OS will ask to format the partition, you have to click on “Format this volume with the following settings” option and leave the File system as NTFS and allocation unit size like Default as it is not required although if you want to change it then you can change also but I am not doing this here. You can change Volume level like whatever you want instead of New Volume, In my case I have entered as PanIIT and then you have to click on next button (refer the below screen)
12. I have entered PanIIT against Change Volume level and clicked on next button (refer the below screen)
13. After click on next button next screen will appear like “Completing the New Simple Volume Wizard” it means your required partition has been created on your internal Hard Disk Drive successfully. Now you have click on Finish button (refer the below screen)
14. After click on Finish button you will be able to see that your partition has been created and showing next to Windows (C) Drive, In my case it is showing PanIIT (D) with required space (refer the below screen)
15. As discussed earlier I want to create one more partition with 100 GB approx, so I have to right click on again Unallocated Space area and click on “New Simple Volume”. (refer the below screen)
16. Now we have to follow the entire process which we did for last partition, So you have to click on next button again for your next partition on “Welcome to the New Simple Volume Wizard” (refer the below screen)
17. In next screen will appear to specify the volume size, you have to go on text box next to third option “Simple Volume size in MB” and type your required volume for next partition, if you want this is last partition then simply leave it and click on next button otherwise specify the required volume for required partition and click on next button. In my case this is the last volumes (Partition) which I want one E with 100 GB approx, henceforth I have left it and clicked on next button. (refer the below screen)
18. In next screen like “Assign Drive letter or Path” there is no need to do anything simply leave it and click on next button (refer the below screen)
19. In next screen OS will ask to format the partition, you have to click on “Format this volume with the following settings” option and leave the File system as NTFS and allocation unit size like Default as it is not required although if you want to change it then you can change also but I am not doing this here. You can change Volume level like whatever you want instead of New Volume, In my case I have entered as Personal and then you have to click on next button (refer the below screen)
20. After clicking on next button your desired partition will be created and also will show in main screen. You can check all these from your This PC or My Computer (refer the below screen) Now all set.
